May Event Spotlight: Meet our intensely smooth spiced rum

If you are looking for a smooth drink with a hint of spice and a sweet finish then let us introduce you to our Sweet Potato Spiced Rum.  This pure spirit is handmade in copper stills using delicious handpicked sweet potatoes and fine sugar cane molasses, resulting in a silky smooth, warming drink that is perfect for any occasion. 

Traditionally made in sugar producing countries and often associated with seafarers, rum has a long history, yet it often gets overlooked for more popular alternatives, such as gin or whisky. Well, that is until now, as recent research showed that of all the spirits, rum was the one that enjoyed the biggest growth during the first lockdown and an overall 8% rise in sales over the last year.

How to serve our spiced rum 

When a spirit tastes this good, it’s best to keep things simple so you can savour the ingredients as they were intended. To best enjoy our spiced rum we recommend that you: 

• Serve neat over crushed or cubed ice. 
• Mix one part rum with two parts ginger beer and serve over ice with a lime wedge. 
• Use in place of your normal rum when mixing up a mojito and add a chilli garnish for extra spice. 

These serving suggestions help enhance the flavours of treacle, ginger, peach and lemon blossom that run through our spiced rum drink.
